1) Plan well in advance to avoid the stress. Create a reminder at least 2 months prior to the date to start looking around. Block out some time just for looking/thinking /researching.
2) Base it on the traditional anniversary themes. I’ve made a list of them below. Try and choose something personal for your partner that aligns with the list, rather than just something for you both. For example, whilst cotton sheets might have certain romantic implications, a cotton robe for her might be better. Rather than a leather couch for both of you, how about leather shoes for him?
3) Don’t forget a card with some heartfelt words. You might find the words inside are more highly valued than the gift itself and do try to add your own message too. Whilst you can google plenty of ideas for things to say for inspiration, make sure to say it in your own words.
4) Have a party. As part of your celebration have a party. It could be party for two, such as a dinner date. A party for family and friends would be especially appropriate for those bigger milestone anniversaries.
5) Guys, worst case buy a dozen roses and a card. If you really can’t think of anything as a suitable gift, then a dozen roses and a card will usually be well received. A drop of champagne won’t go astray either.
